An Action Plan to Accelerate Shared Services in the Next Administration
The Shared Services Leadership Coalition is pleased to announce the release of “What Comes Next: Shared Services Beyond 2020, An Action Plan to Accelerate Shared Services in the Next Administration.”
The government has advocated shared services as a way to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of common government mission support activities for several decades and has attempted to drive adoption across and within agencies with varying approaches and degrees of success. While significant progress has been made in recent years, the pace of business results on the ground has lagged. Now is the time to move beyond a period of experimentation and foundation building to the next stage of business-like, results-driven transformation to fully institutionalize this common sense reform. We hope that leaders inside and outside of government who are working on proposals for the next iteration of the “President’s Management Agenda” and the “Sharing Quality Services” Cross-Agency Priority Goal initiative will find our assessment and recommendations helpful.
